Date of purchase

All purchases on prescription eyewear or contact lenses made after September 1, 2019, are eligible to receive this rebate.

Point of purchase

Only purchases made at a Quebec-based merchant will be deemed eligible for this refund. Purchases made on bonlook.com will not receive a reimbursement.

Amount Issued

A claim may be made for every child in the household aged 18 and younger. This amount is fixed and does not vary based on the total amount spent.

Payment

The person deemed responsible for the child by the RAMQ (by default, the child’s mother) will receive a cheque for $300 by mail. This will arrive approximately three weeks after the claim has been made.

Deadline

An application must be submitted in the 12 months following the purchase of eyewear.

How often a claim may be submitted

Any child who has benefitted from this program must wait two years before they are eligible to receive a reimbursement again. This period is calculated from the date of purchase of the eyewear. For example, if you received a refund for eyeglasses purchased on October 1, 2019, the next purchase that qualifies are those made on or after October 1, 2021.
